Roma, 10 marzo 1980, ore 23:30. Una Alfa Romeo GT di colore rosso sta parcheggiando al civico 30 di via Tiepolo, nel quartiere Flaminio.
A scendere dall’auto è Luigi Allegretti, 36 anni, cuoco presso il noto ristorante Augusteo, nel cuore della capitale. La strada è quasi deserta, ma Allegretti non è solo.
Una vespa bianca con a bordo due giovani si avvicina lentamente al cuoco che nel frattempo si sta dirigendo verso il portone di casa.
Il ragazzo seduto al sedile posteriore della motocicletta estrae una pistola calibro P-38 e dopo averla puntata verso l’uomo spara tre colpi in rapida successione.
Colpito al cuore, Allegretti si accascia sull’asfalto e viene finito con un ultimo proiettile alla testa. La vespa riparte a tutta velocità, dileguandosi in pochi minuti.
Quando giungono i primi soccorsi, ormai non c’è più nulla da fare. Luigi Allegretti lascia una compagna e tre figli, di 2, 5 e 9 anni.
L’omicidio viene rivendicato con una telefonata anonima giunta all’Ansa dai “Compagni Armati per il Comunismo” che affermano erroneamente di aver ucciso “il fascista Rosci”.
Allegretti è stato ucciso per uno scambio di persona. L’obiettivo dei due killer era Gianfranco Rosci, responsabile di una sede del Msi del quartiere Flaminio e residente al civico 38, poco distante dal luogo del delitto.

Stepping out of the car is Luigi Allegretti, 36 years old, a cook at the renowned Augusteo restaurant in the heart of the capital. The street is almost deserted, but Allegretti is not alone.
A white Vespa with two young men on board slowly approaches the cook, who is meanwhile heading towards the entrance of his home.
The young man sitting in the back seat of the scooter pulls out a P-38 caliber pistol and after aiming it at the man, fires three shots in quick succession.
Hit in the heart, Allegretti collapses on the asphalt and is finished off with a final shot to the head. The Vespa speeds away, disappearing within minutes.
When the first responders arrive, there is nothing more they can do. Luigi Allegretti leaves behind a partner and three children, aged 2, 5, and 9.
The murder is claimed with an anonymous phone call received by ANSA from the “Armed Comrades for Communism,” who erroneously claim to have killed “the fascist Rosci.”
Allegretti was killed in a case of mistaken identity. The two killers’ target was Gianfranco Rosci, responsible for an MSI office in the Flaminio district and resident at number 38, not far from the scene of the crime.
